Simple deeds in Butuan sprout ripples of hope

It has been a couple of days since the “Kaligtasan Mo, Gihuna-Huna Ko” started, an initiative of the youth volunteers concerning the safety and health of everyone amid the lockdown in Butuan City.
With the implementation of Local Community Quarantine to Enhanced Community Quarantine in the city, the members of the initiative still manage to think of the simplest thing and service that they can do to help ease the suffering and need of their fellowmen.
Last March 24 and April 1, the initiative was able to distribute free snacks to the barangay tanods who are working tirelessly by monitoring the entry and exit checkpoints. The service of these young warriors extends through volunteering for the Relief Operations headed by the Local Government Unit and managed by the FSUU Foundations where they have been able to repack 45 000 relief packs last April 6-14.
Moreover, the teams have also initiatied to hand over fresh vegetables and crops to the barangay frontliners last April 17 due to the abundant harvest in the locality.
Truly, the team has worked a lot and seeing their beneficiaries happy is the prize they are able to receive in return.
With the help of Kapit-Mindanao, “Kaligtasan Mo, Gihuna Huna Ko” is looking forward to give PPEs to the medical frontliners fighting for the virus which will be a great help to protect them against COVID-19.
The group longs for the safety of everyone until the end of the war.
Lastly, extending the initiative’s services and the efforts of its members are the least that they can do but will surely help the frontliners in a bigger way.
