PROJECT DYESABEL is launching an online concert for a cause dubbed as “MuSEAkahan 2021: Kantahan, Kwentuhan, Kalikasan” on June 5 (6PM) via Facebook Live at fb.com/ProjectDyesabel.
MuSEAkahan is an online concert for a cause to celebrate the World Oceans Day, World Environment Day, and the 3rd Anniversary of Dyesabel, Inc. for the benefit of the Bajau Community in Matina Aplaya, Davao City that are extremely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The online concert for a cause will showcase Mindanawon Artists, Stories of the Bajaus during the pandemic, and Environmental Impacts created by the organization for the past three years.
Last year, Maan Chua, a Dabawenya singer and song-writer known for her songs Sayaw Dabaw and Itadyak with other local artists supported the cause through their crafts that gathered a total donation of P50,000.00 from our viewers. It was used to support the community through buying educational materials in their module learning, food support during lockdown, and healthcare kits to protect them from the virus.
This year, the goal is to reach P70,000.00 that will be used to support the Bajau Community’s Covid 19 Recovery Plan: Edukasyon, Kabuhayan, at Kalusugan. This will be used to continuously support their modular learning, seed funding for a sustainable livelihood, and health support.
This event is co-presented by the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, United States Government Alumni Association – Davao, Young Southeast Asian Leaders InitiativeDavao Hub, and Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability – IDIS.
Developing the Youth with Environmentally Sustainable Advocacies to Build and Empower Lives (DYESABEL) Inc., formerly Project Dyesabel, is a non-profit, Bajau-and-youth-led organization founded by Amiel Lopez and Marvelous Camilo to co-create inclusive initiatives for the people and the planet by lobbying legal actions, initiating environmental programs, and supporting Indigenous Communities in the Philippines starting in Davao City. #
